Opiniones

My mother was a resident there a few years ago, and I haven't wanted to give my opinion because I didn't want to harm the nursing home's reputation, despite the poor service. First of all, they have visiting hours, and you have to notify them of your arrival time. You can't go up to the room until a certain hour. They have set times for taking patients to the bathroom, and the queues are over 45 minutes long. So, by the time they attend to the person, they've already been soiling their diaper for half an hour, or you might arrive in the afternoon and find them wet up to their waist. This leads to infections and sores in their private parts, which you only find out about when they have to go to the hospital for any health reason. The staff is overwhelmed with so many residents and doesn't have time to check the clothing, which means that sometimes they would take my mother downstairs dressed in someone else's clothes. Complaining is pointless because what their records show is within normal limits, and they assure you they'll look into what happened to put your mind at ease. The experience couldn't have been more negative. And to top it all off, it's not one of the cheapest options in Sant Boi.

I've had a connection with the center for over three years, as my mother has been living there since then, and I've witnessed almost daily the exceptional human and professional qualities of the caregivers and staff. I have nothing but words of gratitude for them all. We will probably all face similar situations when we're older. I hope I receive the same care and affection that I see my mother receiving.

My mother is finding it difficult to adjust to this care home. She came from another one, and we thought the change would be for the better, but so far I don't think we made the right choice. But we're going to give them another chance and hope they improve. The cleanliness is acceptable, but I think there should be a bit more variety in the food; my mother is tired of noodle soup and omelet. It's too early to give an opinion on the care itself, but I'll keep an eye on things because it's something that worries us a lot as a family, given previous experiences.

My words about the center are nothing but positive. My mother is well looked after and cared for. I have never witnessed any ill will or harsh words directed at her. Quite the opposite. There is always kindness and affection, attention and responsibility shown to her and to us, her children.

I have been an employee of Los Sauces for a few years now. I have seen the reviews of some of my colleagues below, and I also want to write one, but from the sincerity, because I do not intend to get on anyone's nerves. I am aware that this residence can improve, but I have to do it from the anonymity — you will know why. There are many good things and qualified staff who do their job with a lot of love, but there are also staff who are hired just to get by, and that is where many of the negative reviews come from. I come from another residence, and there are things that I have seen here that I do not like, but I keep quiet about them. However, I can assure you that the workers do what we can. The conditions of the facilities are not our responsibility as caregivers. Sometimes we would like to do more, but it is out of our hands. We are only employees, and we are very limited by the few resources we have and the few staff. It is not possible that at night there is only one person per floor for so many residents. At 8:30 - 9:00 pm they start going to bed, and they still have to be dressed, diapered, washed... When the last one is put to bed, it is already midnight. And at 6:00 they have to be up to dress them again. This is a job that one person alone cannot do. It is true that sometimes they fall, but they are people, and we cannot be on top of them constantly. It is a very large residence and, I repeat, there is a lack of staff. There are few activities, but there are some. And as for the mosquitoes, I myself am full of bites. This year we have seen more; perhaps the drains and sewers need to be cleaned, because when it rains they flood and the water reaches the changing rooms and the kitchen. Regarding meals, perhaps they are referring to the fact that they see that food is being removed, but it is that too much is being made. The people in charge already know this, and it is a point that should be improved: perhaps more quality and less quantity. The grandparents eat little, and we also have little time to give them food, because our shift ends at 8:00 pm and dinner is served at 7:00 pm. Therefore, I repeat: there are things that are out of our hands, but that can be improved.
