A regrettable experience. STARS -10 We decided to trust this nursing home because my grandfather had previously been to the Les Onades day center and received appropriate treatment there. Unfortunately, after suffering a stroke and several months in the hospital, he had to be admitted to the residential center in May as he required constant care that we couldn't provide at home. It was an emergency decision, and since there was no public place available, we had to opt for the private option, where they also assured us that they would soon have subsidized places (something that, over time, we discovered they'd been promising for years). After his admission, everything worsened alarmingly. My grandfather ended up at Los Camilos Hospital with dehydration, malnutrition, and an ulcer so advanced that the medical staff commented that it was literally enough to fit a hand inside. At the nursing home, they kept telling us that it was "under control." Emergency surgical intervention was required to clear the infection. During the nurse's vacation, they substituted a physiotherapist, which was completely unacceptable. No one really knew what my grandfather's medical condition was: zero communication, absolute disorganization, and a feeling of total abandonment. We even saw how, when there was a shortage of cleaning staff, they would put an assistant in to fill the position as if they had extra hands. Faced with this situation, my family decided to go every day to give him dinner personally, ensuring that at least one meal was properly provided. On more than one occasion, my father ended up helping feed other residents, because a single worker had to take care of ten elderly people. Finally, two days ago, my grandfather died in the hospital, with the initial ulcer still open and, in addition, another on his sacrum about 10 cm deep (which the nursing home assured us was 3-4 cm), another on his scrotum, two on his back, one on his heel, and more. Inhuman suffering, completely avoidable. The center urgently needs an inspection of both its staff and facilities. The rooms are small, barely fitting a wheelchair through the doors, and the moment you enter, you notice an unpleasant odor. To top it all off, my grandfather's valuable watch mysteriously disappeared. We can only positively highlight two staff members, Joana and Abril, who demonstrated dedication and professionalism, unlike the rest. Thanks to this "care," my grandfather's life was shortened.

There's a huge staff shortage. The shocking thing is that when the patient goes on vacation, they put the physiotherapist in as a nurse instead of hiring another nurse, something unheard of. They should do a thorough inspection of the center because there are things that aren't even worthy of a pig farm. If you have a family member with a mental health problem and very limited mobility, I wholeheartedly advise you not to bring them to this center for their own good and yours. My grandfather's life has been shortened more than he should have been. He was dehydrated and malnourished, according to the doctors at the Camilos when they had to take him in. Not to mention the unhealed wounds that were rotten and several centimeters deep. The only thing that's saved are some of the center's staff, who do what they can with the limited resources provided by the center's management.

Absolutely inhumane. We trusted this home because my grandfather previously spent a month at the Les Onades day center, where he received good care and attention. Unfortunately, during his stay, he suffered a stroke, and after a couple of months of hospitalization, he had to be admitted to the home in May, as we weren't fortunate enough to be available 24/7 when he needed care. However, we still went to see him every day, and thank goodness. Since it was an emergency, we had to opt for a private center, where we were also told they were in the process of adding public places (we later learned they'd been baiting us for years). Unfortunately, since then, everything has gotten worse; my grandfather's condition has deteriorated by leaps and bounds. He was admitted to Los Camilos, dehydrated/malnourished, with an ulcer the size of the nurses' fists (at the nursing home, they told us it was under control). An emergency surgeon had to come in to treat the infection and all that. The nursing home nurse was on vacation and a physical therapist replaced him. SURREAL, by the way, no one there even knew what was happening to my grandfather. They weren't even concerned, or just the right amount. They didn't even communicate with each other. Not to mention that when the cleaning staff isn't there, they put an assistant on, as if they were redundant. After this situation, we've been giving my grandfather dinner every day to make sure he was doing well at least once. And since there was only one girl for 10 grandparents, even my father has had to give dinner to more than one elderly person. My grandfather finally passed away two days ago while hospitalized at Camilos. He still had the aforementioned ulcer, another one on his sacrum, approximately 10 cm deep (at the nursing home, they told us it was between 3 and 4 cm), another on his scrotum, two on his back, two on his heels, and so on. Obviously, these conditions are incompatible with life. This facility needs a thorough inspection of both its staff and its space. To get to my grandfather's room through the doors, a wheelchair could fit through the doors, and thank goodness. There's a peculiar smell at the entrance to the nursing home. His valuable watch also mysteriously disappeared... and so on. There are only a couple of staff members, Joana and Abril, who are dedicated to their work and are spared from all the "professionals" there. Thank you for shortening my grandfather's life.

The experience with this nursing home has been lamentable and inhumane. My grandfather, who suffered a stroke in February and was admitted to this facility in May, was the victim of absolute neglect: he wasn't given enough food or water, lost at least 10 kilos, was covered in wounds, and had up to eight ulcers that hadn't healed properly, which caused him serious damage. When the nurse went on vacation, they assigned the physiotherapist to treat the elderly, demonstrating a lack of qualified personnel and negligent management. Furthermore, during his stay, he magically lost his watch, which, coincidentally, no one knew anything about (it was an expensive watch). Finally, after five months here, seeing how his condition was gradually getting worse each week, four days ago he was admitted to the hospital in a state of near-death, with many wounds that weren't healing properly and in a state of severe dehydration and malnutrition, due to the carelessness and lack of care of these people, who are clearly unqualified to care for anyone. My grandfather ended up dying due to their ineptitude and negligence. A few staff members were saved, but the rest are a reflection of what a nursing home should never be. I do not recommend this place under any circumstances. Entrusting them with the life of a loved one is condemning them to abandonment, suffering, and a lack of dignity (and we went to see him every day; I can't imagine how they treat those who don't have family or don't go to see them).

Not a nursing home, I'd rather call it a CALVARY. My father was admitted and things went from bad to worse. Total neglect, very dirty, the entrance smells like a sewer, they always eat the same thing, they don't give them water, especially those with mental disabilities. My father had to go to the hospital for dehydration and severe malnutrition, with sores on his leg and sacrum that his fist could fit in up to his wrist. The nurse goes on vacation and replaces a physiotherapist. Everything is bad. And then they lie, they tell you they'll have a public place to get you, and it's a lie. They've been doing this for years. I just want to thank a worker who treated my father, a 10-year-old named Joana. A huge kiss from Montserrate, Gregorio, and the family. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
