This is the story of a 76-year-old woman, a stroke survivor with severe aftereffects—a paralyzed left arm and leg—searching for a nursing home for her husband, who suffers from Alzheimer's disease due to a fall at home where he broke a vertebra and his dementia progressed rapidly. After many attempts, thanks to a friend, we found one in San Juan de la Arena, the San Telmo Residence. After much back and forth, he visited a private neurologist to get him medicated so he would be fit for admission. We convinced him to go, as he initially didn't want to. We prepared everything, and before leaving, we called. To our surprise, they told us they wouldn't admit him, lest he cause a disturbance among the other residents. With his medication, he wasn't causing any trouble, but it was impossible; there was nothing we could do. I was furious at the director's lack of character. They only want healthy but dependent people so the money flows in easily; the rest of us have to pay the price. Screw us and we have to find another solution, I don't know what it is. We don't know if it's a social center, a cultural center, or a vacation resort, but what I do know is that those of us who really need a residence are ignored and left in complete despair. They couldn't care less about my situation, and it seems like my money is worthless.

I had a family member in this residence and I couldn't be more grateful for the care they received. From day one, the staff made us feel right at home: attentive, caring, and always ready to help with a smile. It's clear they love their work and genuinely care about the residents. The facilities are meticulously maintained, clean, comfortable, and very welcoming. They have lovely common areas and spaces where residents can enjoy the fresh air and stay active. Everything is designed to make them feel good. The medical care and daily monitoring are impeccable. They always kept us informed and addressed any need quickly and professionally. For me, it was a huge relief to know my loved one was in good hands. I recommend this residence without hesitation. I wish all seniors could receive this kind of care. Thank you for everything!

My experience at the San Telmo Residence couldn't have been better. The staff's humane and professional treatment is excellent: always attentive, friendly, and with a warmth that's evident from day one. The facilities are very well maintained, clean, and have bright and pleasant spaces.
