El Centro de día Atendo - Vigo destaca por su personal especializado, instalaciones adecuadas y un trato excepcional caracterizado por la empatía y el respeto hacia los mayores y sus familias, con una trayectoria de 23 años en la ciudad generando confianza. Sin embargo, existen preocupaciones graves sobre seguridad documentadas en casos de usuarios con Alzheimer, donde se registraron dos fugas en menos de un mes sin respuesta satisfactoria de la dirección, lo que ha generado descontento significativo entre algunos usuarios.

The service is exceptional for users; empathy, care, and a very human touch. People are their priority; they are incredibly attentive to everyone's pace and rhythm. They encourage and support, but always with the utmost respect. They report even the slightest change in behavior or health status that they notice or that catches their attention. There is excellent communication within the team. In my case, they have welcomed, cared for, and understood my mother's pace; the experience with them has been outstanding.

The center was fine, but the manager or social worker was very thin and had a prominent nose. I had been told she was very narcissistic and unpleasant, and I confirmed it. I'm giving her a 2 because this person cast a bit of a shadow over my experience.

I am very unhappy with this center. My father has intermediate-stage Alzheimer's and started at Atendo on December 17, 2018. On the 20th, my father "escaped" from the center. We were notified that he left through a gym door blocked with exercise equipment, which he removed to escape. My brother found him an hour later wandering around the area. Although this is already a major security breach at the center, given that they are supposed to care for people with Alzheimer's, for whom escaping is not uncommon, and they were aware of my father's condition, we decided to give them another chance and let him continue... But on Friday, January 11, my father escaped again, leaving through the "main door" while there was a power outage. We were notified and told that they were going to look for him, and the whole family started searching as well. My father-in-law found him in Sanjurjo Badia two hours later while looking for my house in the opposite direction, completely disoriented. We didn't even receive an apology, and they simply blamed the boy who was unloading the equipment, saying it wasn't a prison and that they wouldn't have anyone at the door... that the women have other duties. It's unacceptable. Twice in less than a month indicates that something is wrong. They're supposed to be professionals, and this shouldn't happen even once, but acknowledging a first mistake, they should be especially vigilant and learn from it to implement safety measures. The fact that it happened twice, and the response we received, has led us to file an official complaint in the logbook so that the administration will intervene and take the necessary steps. In any case, we've taken my father out of the center.
