Thank you so much for existing and persevering. You opened a path for me and a way to respond to life when everything seemed to be closing in on me. You are the window that opens us to life when it confronts us with walls that isolate and overwhelm us. Sending you a hug and wishing you much strength for another 25 years.
- Maria Jose Castellanos
I wanted to thank everyone who has participated and continues to participate in this association and who has helped us care for our seniors over these twenty-five years. It's a real honor to have been a part of Afade as well. A big hug to everyone.

AFADE is a magnificent association for the great work they do with patients and their families. I'm very happy since I started taking my wife to the center. They are excellent professionals in every sense.

I am one of the founders of Afade, born in the Alcantarilla Senior Center, a tiny association of family members—an embryo—of the problem of our seniors with mental illnesses such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, senile dementia, etc., etc., who were kept in their homes their entire lives in an isolated room so that no one would know they had one of these illnesses that consume family members due to the intense care they needed and couldn't be provided for various reasons. We had this desire to give them a better standard of living in their final days or years of life and to take them out of the darkness of these dark rooms. After countless administrative inconveniences in launching Afade, the entire board of directors, led by Julia Fernández Sánchez, set out to make their lives more pleasant by providing them with more time and helping them slow the progression of their illnesses. We also wanted to give family members a break from their intense care and a higher standard of living. Years later, we moved to a ground floor on Salvador de Maradiaga Street, from where we legalized the association (Afade). We signed agreements with the Regional Government, Social Services (Ayto Alcantarilla), and various private companies. We held annual dinners, events, and so on. Right now, with the new day center on Carmen de Alcantarilla Street, and a huge financial effort—as can be seen from the outside and especially the inside—it's a benchmark, at least in the Region of Murcia, and has garnered numerous public and private comments about providing the best service, with the exception of some ignorant people who lack a thorough understanding of their family member's illness who say otherwise. See you next April 13th at the celebration of our 25th anniversary serving our families, who need us more than ever. I'm not on the Board of Directors now; I served as the association's Treasurer for many years.

Brutal. Unbeatable customer service. Attentive at all times. If you're thinking of a place where you can be treated well, AFADE is it. Excellent service. Great staff.
