Opiniones

My father was only here for a month, but I have to thank all the staff (I won't name names individually because I don't know them all and I don't want to leave anyone out): reception staff, assistants, nurses, doctors, physiotherapist, social worker, director... for their care and affection, both towards my father, who was going through a difficult time, and towards us. For their professionalism and empathy, from the first day when we had to leave him, until the Thursday he passed away, they made us feel supported and cared for at all times, giving us a warmth that made this difficult time a little easier.

I worked at this care home and feel a responsibility to document situations I witnessed that shouldn't happen, yet families are kept in the dark. Following recent events, I recall a resident attempting to suffocate another with a pillow, and numerous falls due to lack of supervision. The director fails to take effective action or offer any answers when incidents occur; the geriatric staff also act negligently, demonstrating a lack of interest and follow-up that jeopardizes the residents' well-being. Adding to this is the minimal involvement of the social worker, whose intervention is practically nonexistent. She even laughs behind the families' backs. They mask the reality for families, concealing what's really going on behind the scenes, all while maintaining exorbitant costs.

I would like to thank the Emera Carabanchel team for the care and affection they have shown my mother, Luisa, as well as the kindness and closeness they have shown to me and my siblings. The rapid deterioration of my mother's health forced us to admit her to the nursing home, where she found a pleasant environment and loving treatment. Communication with the family has been constant, and they have always assisted us whenever we needed it, being receptive to our suggestions. For all this, I must say that my experience has been very positive and that the people who cared for my mother and with whom we have dealt have demonstrated great professionalism, which is always greatly appreciated, but even more so in situations as difficult as this one.

I don't give it less because it can't be done. It's an absolute disaster; a week was enough to get my mother out of there. They yell at them, they ring the bell at night because they let them urinate on themselves and no one comes for a long time, they leave them sitting in a chair all day despite being a person who needs to move around to maintain their abilities. The mealtimes are ridiculous, leaving more than 12 hours between dinner and breakfast, leaving them "fainting from hunger," as the elderly residents themselves put it. The air conditioning is on all day, having to wear winter clothes because of the cold, and so on, an endless stream of daily nonsense that creates an absolute disaster for the modest price of €3,000 a month. When you express your discontent, self-criticism is NON-EXISTENT, and the best part is that they boast that their priority is the well-being of the residents... I'm still waiting for my mother's assessment, as if it were the papal conclave!

If you're looking for a place where your family can rest and enjoy a peaceful environment, this residence is only available from October to June. During the winter months, at night, it's like the San Isidro meadow, with dozens of people making noise until the early hours of the morning, every day of the week. The police don't do anything, and neither does the residence. If you want to have parties, music, and commotion below your rooms, this is the ideal place.
