A visit to the Bouco Girona Residence and Day Care Center reveals a space designed for the care of seniors, with a significant capacity for residential and day care places. The location, close to the city center and in a natural setting next to the Ter River, offers a pleasant atmosphere. The rooms, available in various configurations, as well as the common areas, have a functional and modern appearance. The services offered appear to cover basic care and well-being needs. For those looking for a center with these characteristics, I suggest considering a visit to assess how it adapts to each individual's specific needs.

What a disastrous center! We had to admit a family member for recovery. In less than two weeks, they forgot to give him his medication twice. We went to ask for all the medication so we could administer it as usual, and to our surprise, boxes of medicine were missing. I also remember one day there was no toilet paper in the bathroom… the response was that there wasn't enough for all the residents. The poor quality of the food and the menu combinations were also shocking. Some days for dinner they had meatballs with sauce or ham and cheese sandwiches, which I don't think is the best food for elderly people since everyone is eating the same thing. Regarding cleanliness, our family member's sheets were only changed twice during his entire stay. I could write more, but if I have to give one piece of advice, it's this: "If you truly care about your family member, don't take them to this center."

I sincerely believe that if a hidden camera were installed in this nursing home, the owners, partners, or directors would be ashamed of the quality of service they are providing. Non-professionals are working in the kitchen, often without nurses (acting as their assistants), and a doctor who visits patients when "there is time." Many grandparents are diabetics and are given sweets. They are given medication "when they can..." They take advantage of the fact that many grandparents, unfortunately, cannot complain. But if they carried out inspections like those responsible, they would be ashamed. It's a shame some TV programs don't bring these things to light.

Lack of professionalism from the nurses, terrible treatment, theft, bad food, NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL

This nursing home is a sham, very beautiful on the outside and with nice facilities, but its operation and lack of staff, including a resident doctor, leave your loved one unprotected. They are negligent and should be closed. They fail in the most important aspect of healthcare: misplacing medication, confusing it with other residents' medications, or not checking if it has been taken. The food is terrible. There's a lot of hype, but the reality that reaches the studio is depressing. Their staff is constantly being replaced because nobody can stand working there, putting in endless hours for the bare minimum. They're in such bad shape that they're now going to change the name from Orpea to Emeis. They've been reported to social services and fined several times at the Generalitat headquarters in Girona, but they're still the same. I spent almost two years fighting to get the problems resolved, but there was no way, and even now, the same irresponsible people are still in charge. Avoid for-profit private nursing homes like this one; it's all a facade, and they're only after profits.
